Ingredients: (2 servings)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 orange thinly sliced
  • 2 tomatoes thinly sliced or 1 tomato + 1/2 can diced tomatoes
  • 2 cloves of garlic, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 sprigs of fresh thyme
  • 1/2 small red chilli, seeds removed and thinly sliced
  • 3 cardamon pods, crushed to reveal black seeds
  • 12-14 large prawns (about 200g once peeled)
  • freshly ground pepper
  • 3-5 tbsp water

 

Method:

  • Heat oil in a pan to medium heat
  • Place the orange sliced into the pan and cook for 30 sec then turn them over
  • Add tomato, garlic, thyme, chilli and cardamon and cook on high heat until the tomato slices start to break down a little (3min.)
  • Place prawns into pan and season with salt and pepper
  • Add 3 tbsp of water and cook until the prawns have turned pink 
  • Serve immediately with your favourite salad or favourite side

It’s really important to know that doing abdominal exercises won’t help to get rid of stomach fat.

There are some great exercises that can be done (and I will tell you 3 of my favourites in this blog post) to flatten the stomach and contribute to toned abs but to get actually rid of the stomach fat you need to work on overall fat loss.

Simple roast veggies

Ingredients:

  • 1 large eggplant
  • 3-4 carrots
  • 1 large capsicum (or 2 small)
  • 2 zucchinis
  • olive oil
  • salt, pepper, oregano

Method:

 

  • First cut the eggplant into chunks and sprinkle with salt. Let rest for at least 30min as it draws the moisture out
  • Preheat the oven to 200’
  • Cut the remaining vegetables in chunks and place on an oven tray
  • Using a paper towel pat dry the eggplant and place on the tray
  • Sprinkle veggies with olive oil (2-3 tbsp), season with salt, pepper & oregano (1-2 tsp)
  • Turn the heat down to 180’ and place tray in the oven
  • Roast for 45min - 1h or until cooked to preference
