What can you swap some of those unhealthy treats for?
When we get cravings it’s sometimes hard to stay strong so maybe we can just soothe those cravings with healthy food choices?
1.) Milk chocolate- swap for dark chocolate ideally 85-90%
Dark chocolate is a lot more satisfying than milk chocolate + you will eat a couple of pieces and stop craving more as opposed to having milk chocolate.
2.) Chips- swap for Veggie chips
Have you tried making your own kale chips at home? There is nothing more simple than making kale chips. Simply place kale leaves on a baking tray, drizzle with a tiny bit of olive oil and season with salt. Place in the oven until crisp. Delicious!
3.) Bottled juice- swap for freshly squeezed juice
If juice is left in the bottles the sugar becomes more concentrated and you also won’t get all the benefits from the veggies/ fruits. Go for freshly squeezed juice and drink immediately.
4.) Roasted/ Salted nuts- swap for raw nuts
The fat in nuts becomes rancid when roasted on high heat. Eat nuts raw or activated where possible or roast your own nuts on low heat.
5.) Bread/ Pasta- swap for unprocessed carbs such as rice & potatoes
There is a difference between dry (bread…) and wet starches (rice…). They act differently on your body. Wet starches are beneficial for fat loss & weight loss so stay clear of dry starches or limit to 1-3x week.
