Chasing the wrong things for the wrong reasons?

It’s easy to get caught up in everyday life and routine, but when was the last time you stopped and pondered about WHY you’re doing the things you’re doing each day?

Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate that there are tasks that simply need to get done, but I just want to check in with you to make sure that some of that stuff is actually exciting and true to you?

What do I mean with “true to you”?

It’s crazy how we can be influenced subconsciously, perhaps through family & friends or social media. Without knowing we end up pursuing things that might not necessarily achieve any kind of fulfilment.

Maybe it’s important to you to look your best at all times.

Maybe it’s important to you to work your way up the corporate ladder.

Maybe it’s important to you to ‘keep up with the Joneses’

But if you’re just realising that what you’re chasing after is not true to YOU, maybe it’s time to reassess. You might not constantly feel motivated to do what’s necessary to get the results you’re after BUT it certainly must feel exciting.

Excitement

If you manage to nail your ‘towards motivation’, excitement is a natural bi product of embarking on the path to get the results you’re after.

Towards motivation means that the goals you’re pursuing are making you feel content and feeding in with your bigger picture.

If you’re constantly pursuing goals because you’re moving away from pain, (e.g. “I don’t want to be fat anymore”) it’s going to be a long, hard journey to get there.

What is it that you truly want?

What’s the big picture?

What’s your WHY?

Go and chase what’s true to you and what excites you.
