5 things to include into your morning ritual

1.) How do you wake up?

Waking up gently is much better than having an alarm that makes you sit upright in bed within a split second.

We are meant to wake up with the sun rising but obviously for most of us that’s not achievable. Choose an alarm in your phone that is a bit more gentle to make sure your cortisol levels won’t go through the roof.

2.) Take 5 deep breaths first thing when getting up

Taking a few deep breaths in the morning sets you up for the day. Shallow breathing is super common and makes your body tight and feel stressed.

Proper diaphragm breathing in the morning will make it more likely for you to stick to it a bit more during the day.

3.) Don’t leave only 15min to get out of the house

Are you one of those people who gets up, runs into the bathroom, throws on clothes whilst still brushing the teeth and leaves the house 2 min later?

Leave yourself some time!

It’s so much better for your body + mind to have a relaxed start into the day.

Let’s be honest it’s not going to make a difference if you get up 5-10min earlier.

4.) Have apple cider vinegar/ lemon/ or lime in water

Alkalising the body is really important in the morning. We tend to generally become quite acidic in the course of the day through coffee, sugar, certain types of foods and stress so it’s a really good idea to up that PH level in the morning.

5.) Set yourself two goals for the day

Setting yourself two goals for the day is a great idea because you start your day with intention and you have something to work towards for the day.

What are your priorities for the day? If you are going to have a very stressful day you may want to set yourself the goal of going for a 20min walk.
