Post workout fix for a cold winter day

Warming sweet potato porridge

In winter we simply feel like eating more warming foods than in summer.

Try this delicious sweet potato porridge - perfect to eat post workout.


Ingredients: (serves 4)

  • 550g raw sweet potato 
  • 1 large carrot
  • 120g (mix of) rice flakes/ millet flakes or use oats
  • 2.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 300ml raw almond milk or milk of choice
  • 200ml water
  • 2 tsp honey or maple syrup



  • Cut the sweet potato and carrot into cubes. Steam until softened.
  • Mash the flesh of sweet potato and carrot using a fork
  • Add all remaining ingredients apart from your sweetener: flakes, cinnamon, milk, water
  • Bring porridge to boil and stir frequently. Cook for about 5 min.
  • Add maple syrup and stir in well.
  • Top with your favourite berries/ cinnamon or have it plain as is
  • Enjoy!
