Do you sometimes get heart burn or do you get an upset stomach after eating certain foods? Nature has provided us with a great supply of “plants” that can help ease your symptoms instead of taking a pill from the pharmacy.

In general it is a great idea to include herbal teas into your daily habits either instead of coffee or in the afternoon to aid digestion.

The focus of the following herbs/teas lies uniquely on finding relief when there are any digestive issues. They are best bought in health food stores. 

 

  • Fennel- acid stomach, irritable bowel, constipation, flatulence, spasm
  • Aniseed- ease indigestion, bloating, belching, infant colic, flatulence
  • Ginger- promotes good digestion and is antispasmotic, reduces nausea and vomiting
  • Dandelion- digestion & liver cleansing
  • Chamomile- digestion & nervous system; soothe inflamed or irritated gastrointestinal tissue
  • Peppermint- helps with bloating, sluggish digestion, inadequate, bile secretion, relieve of intestinal cramps
  • Licorice- immune system, dental plaque & digestion
  • Cinnamon bark- helps with indigestion, poor appetite, trapped gas, nausea, belching, flatulence, diarrhoea
