Are you going snail pace or top speed?

What if I told you that you could achieve your goals twice as quick than you’re currently tracking?

The thing is that most people actually don’t realize how much more potential there is to what they’re currently doing.

There’s so much to be said about the “what” and “how” when it comes to working out.

Here are the top 3 reasons why you keep wasting time with your training:

  • You lack “muscle tension” and “just do the exercises”

Honestly- I believe this is THR MAIN reason why a lot of people progress slowly. Say you’re currently recruiting 40% of your entire muscle mass and you genuinely believe that you’re squeezing when really you just haven’t learnt how to properly engage your muscles and how to train with intention.

Let’s use the “squat” to make an example. You can squat up and down with no muscle tension recruiting maybe 20-40% of your muscle fibers OR you could use your breath to switch on your core, press your feet down and out on the floor, tear the floor apart as you lower yourself down into the squat whilst tensing your back & glute muscles and all of a sudden you’re engaging 60-70% of your muscle mass!

This is not only true for the squat but basically all exercises you’re executing. It’s all about the “how” in order to tap into the potential of getting more out of your training.

  • You haven’t quite figured how to “flick the mental switch”

Believe it or not but there have been many times where I haven’t been able to do an exercise or lift a heavy weight because I haven’t flicked my mental switch. It’s a little bit like a lion going after its prey. He really wants it and then he goes for it.

This is also true when you train: you can add a ton of magic to your workouts by flicking that mental switch.

Exercise with mindfulness, belief and intention as opposed to “just doing it”. What’s the purpose behind your workout? Why are you putting yourself through it? Remember your goals and if you really want it you’ll get so much more out of your session.

  • You are not following a program and just doing the same classes with the same intensity and volume

Einstein: “ “Insanity” doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result”.

And this can be true for your workout regime if you are doing the same classes such as body pump, cycle etc. over and over again.

Don’t get me wrong- if you’re looking to maintain or complement your routine with a body pump, cycle or other class amazing, go for it!

BUT if you are looking for a body transformation and want to achieve specific goals you must expose your body to different stimuli (intensity/ volume).
