New Year, New Year's Resolution, New You?

New year, new years resolution, new you?

I think the turn into a new year is a great call to refocus and to set goals but new years resolution? I believe we should make “a new years resolution” every day.

Committing to our goals every single day.

We tend to always wait for something, procrastinate.

Next Monday, next month, next year…? “I’ll start after my birthday party.” Why?

Scared of change?

Scared of commitment?

Scared of hard work?

We need to accept that there is always something coming in the way, that things don’t go after plan all the time. We need to learn to adjust and do the best we can. Because if we can’t commit to our goals today, if they need to wait until next Monday or next month or until after the birthday party we are never going to stick to them.

The other thing I see a lot is that if we fall off the wagon because of a social event and because we haven’t stuck to our nutrition plan for that event it can be a downward spiral from there.

Thoughts running through our minds : ”Well I have already…”, “Now it doesn’t matter anymore…” etc.

But we can restart, refocus again every hour, every day. It is important to enjoy life and be able to socialise without feeling guilty and without letting go of our general health and fitness commitments.

Accept that this is life. Accept that not everything always goes to plan.

What are your goals for this year? Have you set some? Do they have time frames?

Are they realistic?

I personally think it is super important to set yourself realistic goals with realistic time frames with realistic commitment on your behalf.

Have you done this for yourself yet?

Remember: every hour, every day, every week… it all counts. It’s all about your mindset.
